Sadi (often called Purl) is a coiled, spiraled wire with a hollow central tube and is available in a variety of different colours and textures.
Sadi or Purl is commonly found decorating the most beautiful Indian Sarees and Middle Eastern Kafatans. Sadi or Purl can be incorporated into silk embroidery, stumpwork, ecclesiastical work, clothing and accessories, and many other kinds of embroidery.
Care must be taken when working with Sadi or Purl thread as it does not spring back when it is stretched. The thread can be cut into required lengths and couched down or stitched down as though it were a bead.
